The Address Book is a collection of address books or address lists. It can be used to look up and select names, e-mail addresses, and distribution lists while addressing individual messages. But what would you do if you want to send an e-mail containing a holiday greeting or an important announcement to all of your friends registered in your address book? And what if the number of contacts you have is over a hundred? Adding them one by one would be a time consuming affair.
You could make use of the group or category feature of your address book for this purpose. Don’t worry, it isn’t complicated at all. Let us take you through the process in simple terms.
Access your address book: First of all, get to your address book by either clicking on the “To” button at the top of a new e-mail message, or select “Address Book” or “Contacts.”
Create a new group: Select the option to create a new group/category and name it or use one of the existing ones. Add all the contacts of your address book here and click “Save”. This will confirm your selection.
Compose a new message and send it: Open a new e-mail window to compose your message. Return to your address book and select the group or category into which you transferred all of the addresses. Click “Add” or “OK” to return to the message. The addresses should now appear in the “To:” field.
Complete the remaining fields of the e-mail message and click “Send” as you would ordinarily.
You can confirm that the message went through successfully by going to your “Sent Messages” folder. Check that the message you sent appears in the folder.
Now you can easily share your recipes, latest gossips, wedding plans, or anything you wish to under the sun by sending a mass e-mails without missing out anyone in your contact list. It’s good to update and be updated!
