Christmas is over and I have recovered from the festive hangover of Christmas. I have stacked my red dress back to the wardrobe and took out my black little dress to get ready for New Year’s Eve bash. Though I am horribly busy these days in selecting the right accessories and matching jacket, yet I am also penning down my plans for New Year, as and when I find time to ponder.
In 2012, I am surly going to curb on my carb intake, regularly spend at least 20 minutes on my exercise bike and walk with Darky (my canine companion) every morning, and definitely resist bites (sinful, I know!) on cakes and pastries. I also have laid some plans to manage my finances and relationships. They go like these –
- Suppress my fetish for shoes and bag and moderate on blowing my money on Manolo Blahnik and Prada substance (Yes, the Carrie Bradshaw syndrome)
- Will keep track of my investments, installments and lower my credit card bills
- Take timely backup of my smartphone and computer
- Be wiser and keep my relationships sane as much as possible etc.
And certainly there are more. You might be thinking that once again I am going to contribute to the trash of ‘New Year Resolutions’. But, not this time. Against all odds, I have smartened up my strategies to achieve New Year resolutions because I am keeping some tech tools handy.
My Health

The Lose It! app will aid me in my health related New Year resolutions by keeping a count of my calorie intake. Likewise, iWatchr app on my iPhone will keep track of meals, Eight Glasses A Day app will remind me taking glasses of water (keep my body hydrated and skin glowing), Daily Burn Tracker app will be a shopping guide in buying the right food items and ingredients. I have also downloaded some exercise apps like iFitness, B.iCycle, Gym Buddy to keep me motivating, track of calories I burn and weight I shed.
My Finances and Relationships

This year, I promised myself to be more money conscious and watch out my expenses and investments. Hence, to achieve my financial New Year resolutions, I have bookmarked websites like Mint.com, xpen$er, LifeTurner and social media applications like Tweetwhatyouspend and BillMonk.
Tech tools that I am resorting to juice up my love life are wikiHow’s Love Survival Kit (to find tips when going gets tough!), upgrade Skype to continue with better communications with my long-distance sweetheart. However, single people are recommended to frequent at OkCupid to explore meeting prospective dates and finding true love.
With these tech tools at hand, New Year resolutions could be easily turned into achievable New Year regimens. Worth giving a try!
This is an excellent post. I will definitely using the finance websites such mint.com right now!
