Internet trolls defaces Facebook® with nasty baby pictures and comments

Facebook, the social networking giant, has been defaced by a pair of American ‘trolls’ recently. The pair stole baby photos from parents’ profiles and pasted them on other sites with sexual comments attached with the pictures. About hundreds of Victorian Facebook pages have been threatened by this gross act of pairs who are distributing baby pictures from Facebook profiles. They are uploading pictures of dead babies on parenting websites. Parents having pictures of their babies as their profile pictures are petrified and have been warned by Facebook to hide their children’s pictures from public view. Facebook took action to delete those photos and accounts within the week of posting, but, before that those pictures were already propagated to other websites with ghastly comments.

The incident caused panic among parents as they were shocked to see their kid’s photos depicting that the kids have committed suicide after being cyber-bullied. The photos reveal kids’ neck being trapped in a noose along with some offensive comments like “Hang in there Tom”. This has shocked parents who are still guessing what the next step by the Internet trolls could be. Although those vile comments and embarrassing photos were removed from Facebook, parents will nevertheless take time to recover from the shock.

These trolls post irrelevant messages and pictures in online communities to disturb users. Hence, it is assumed that they could be channelizing those pictures and comments on other media as well to upset other users. To bring it to the notice of users who may still be unaware of this, Linda Bradfield, who runs Facebook page ‘Nifty Mums Network’ has asked Facebook to reveal the IP addresses publicly.

The IP addresses are actually the numbers which are assigned to the computer systems in a network. Therefore, these IP addresses can be used to track these trolls. Facebook is trying to locate these offensive trolls and delete all other malicious accounts.

Parents are also prompting Facebook to take a serious action against these people to teach them a good lesson.
