After it was publicly announced during SXSW that Instagram, is coming an Android, no other update had been released from the developer for long. It was only on March 24, 2012 that it was announced that the Android version is supposedly “better than our iPhone app”. This one-step progress is honestly significant for many. After hearing that the Instagram is coming up âvery soonâ on Android, all Android enthusiasts (including me) were earnestly anticipating the release date of the photo sharing app â and here is the good news. Now, we do not need to search for release dates on the Internet, we will be notified as soon as the app lands up on Google Play.
Are you expecting to read about an official release date? Well you might be disappointed then. Instead of revealing an official release date, the publisher of Instagram has released a pre-registration page. This pre-registration form is intended for Android users to send in their e-mail addresses so that they are notified about the official launch through mail. At least, you will now be instantly notified of the appâs release from the horseâs mouth, instead of you having to rely on any press news. Now the obvious question, where and how to find this page.
How to find this Pre-registration page? Â
The pre-registration form was first discovered by The Next Web. The page can be located here. All you need to do is to navigate to the page, enter your e-mail address and click on the âNotify meâ button and wait for the news to arrive in your Inbox. If you are not good at keeping your patience, registering with this page may not be a good idea as Instagram does not mention any probable duration that you may have to wait for. Nonetheless, you can check out the teaser screenshot of the Android version that is released by Tim Van Damme, the Instagram designer, right from the registration page.
