Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social networking sites engage us for hours. However, some social media spoilers ruin the fun that you love to hate them. The joyride of sharing and hearing updates of family, friends, old colleagues, celebrities or media channels come to a screeching halt with their annoying social media posts; and worse still there is no escape from these social media addicts as they span across all popular social networking sites you can think of.
On the basis of their repetitive sharing patterns, we have classified those people you love to hate on social media in these following categories:
1. The ‘Oh-so-much-in-love” couple
Sadly if you are in their contacts, you could be secretly wishing them to stop posting pictures of their date nights, flowers, gifts and food they treat to each other with. Their unremitting feeds on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and even, videos on Vine on recent dates, movie-nights, dinners and romantic plans documented with “#blessed” and “#somuchinlove” hashtags ruin the beauty of social media sharing.
2. The Inspirational Speakers
There are those who cannot stop but share inspiring quotes and images of celebrities, authors or prominent speakers are classified under ‘The Inspirational Speakers’. These wannabe speakers’ spoil the fun on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter with daily dose of photos and quotes of forests, love, fighters, innovators and social influencers.
3. The Chronic Cribber
The Chronic Cribbers have survived these long and sadly, are going to survive to tell their sob-stories on Facebook. Apparently they have never met anyone or seen anything that they could not complain about on social media, be it their car, cats, dogs, people, and everything else under the sun. Unfortunately, they do not stop there; they turn social media space gloomy with shared depressive songs, heart-aching lyrics and poem excerpts. Stay away from these Chronic Cribber to keep the merriment intact.
4. The Selfie Braggers
One of the blatant braggers on social media is posers or selfie-braggers. A large share of their posts includes their selfies to flaunt their pout, new ballerinas, haircut, watches, cars or their oh-so-good-looks. You would sure be tired of posting likes, favorites and comments, but they cannot just resist the charm of adoration in the form of likes, favorites, and comments.
5. The Animal lover
Their cat videos, panda videos or pledges to rescue or adopt canines repel us over and over again on social media. Not only that, they occasionally spam with those videos and photos of their pets such as how they sneeze, sleep, tear their curtains, licks their cheek, wag their tail, play with balls, how fat or leaner they turned and the like – via Instagram, Facebook, Vine videos or Tweets.
6. The Candy Crash Spammers
The Candy Crash Spammers share every level they cross, every friend they beat, and send unwanted game requests of social media games they play. Turn off ‘Get notifications’ option on their profile or tweak app settings on Facebook if you want to stop this flood of game requests and updates from Candy Crush Saga, Mafia Wars, Criminal Case, Words With Friends, Pet Rescues Saga or Clash of Clans.
7. The Proud-mama
They think they are blessed with the cutest baby in the world and they do not leave any stone unturned in spreading the word. Apparently, they choose social media space to share their baby’s pictures, painting, medals/certificates their offspring win, accomplishments, each alphabet or word their kids master and even the baby’s diaper. These proud mamas do not shy away from documenting every first act of their offspring on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Vine.
They would definitely mean well and feel overtly generous in revealing too many details about them, but would you not push them from the vicinity of notifications on social media? However, there are more types of social media spoilers – check out this infographic which illustrates more such annoying people we love to hate and unfriend on social media.
