In due course of surfing Facebook, you may be curious to know who all are visiting and seeing your profile every day. Well, it is quite a natural instinct though; however Facebook does not authenticate any such function.
Various messages posted on Facebook claim that, by following a link and installing a Facebook application, you can see who has been viewing your Facebook Profile on a regular basis. The claims in these messages are false. All Facebook applications that claim such a function are not worth a single click of the mouse from your end. These are absolutely rogue applications and are designed to fool Facebook users into visiting spam survey websites, signing up as a buyer of expensive online services.
However, the claims in these posts fake and designed to trick the users. Never step into the trap or else you might just end up installing rogue Facebook applications.
Here is the process how it actually works:
While surfing Facebook, you might across this application that supposedly allows Facebook users to see who has been viewing your profile without your knowledge. You may get tempted and as an instinctive reflex click on the application. The moment you grant the permission to have an access to the application, then you will be shown a list of blurred image along with their identity. This list apparently comprises of those who had recently viewed my profile. The pictures and names on the list are locked and are beyond basic understanding level. And then there would be this sudden pop-up window claiming that you must complete a survey to verify the account before being allowed to continue. Even once you complete the survey you would be informed that verification had failed and that another survey needs to be completed. You may completed several such surveys and finally the application will reveal a list with an apparent false claim that the list represent the profile viewers.
