Since Facebook is a public platform, making Facebook private prevents and protects you from identity theft. You can be one step closer to Internet security by setting your profile to private mode on social networking sites. This will enable only those who are enlisted as your friends, to see your profile information and other details like photos, videos and other applications. To make your Facebook profile private, follow the simple guidelines, stated below.

First, login to your Facebook account at www.facebook.com. Once you enter your profile home page, click ‘Account’ near the upper right corner of your profile page, and then click on “Privacy Settings”.
