Britney Spears is surely having the best time of her life by appearing in the news headlines this week. First, she successfully wrapped up her musical tour Femme Fatale, then she flashed her engagement with Jason Trawick, and now she has become the first user on Google+ to snag one million followers. And in the race of claiming popularity on Google+, she even knocked down Larry Page, the co-founder and CEO of Google. The news of the singer and actress surmounting other top social networking celebrities with one million users on the Google+ platform is confirmed by a report published by The Next Web. Her gain of attention from one million users also evidences the fact that Google+ started to gain footing not only among technical types, but also among non-technical people and celebs.
To attain her title of the Most-Followed Person on Google+, she also left behind the legendary rapper Snoop Dogg. According to the data of Social Statistics, Britney Spears has a follower base of 1,078,900 and Larry Page has come down to the second spot with 960,210 followers. Snoop Dogg, Tyra Banks, and Richard Branson are on the third, fourth, and fifth spots with 926,547; 782,245; and 713,150 followers, respectively.
Britney’s official website BritneySpears.com flaunts a big icon of her presence at the Google+ social networking platform. Reports claim that this gigantic icon on her website has been a key factor in setting such a milestone for Britney growing a million of fan base. However, when compared to her fan bases at Twitter and Facebook with 11.9 million followers and 15.7 million followers to ‘Like’ her respectively, her one million fans base on Google+ looks pale. After enabling the ‘Subscribe’ feature on Facebook, she allowed her fans to see her every update posted publicly on her profile and she has already attracted more than 596,000 people to subscribe her.
