As Mobile World Congress is just two weeks to go, LG has just let the cat out of its bag! The tech giant has showcased the much awaited smartwear LG Watch Urbane. LG plans to position this latest watch as a classic timepiece.in upcoming Mobile World Congress Trade Show in Barcelona. So, will it stack up against existing players in the smartwear market?
The Urbane Look
Looks like LG has left no stones unturned to contend against Apple Watch (the best looking so far!). The LG Watch Urbane looks quite stylish and elegant to wear, will wow both sexes. There will be two variants in two different colors – gold and silver to match individual style statements. Moreover, the strap of the watch can be swapped out of any 22mm strap.
LG Watch Urbane has a 1.3 inch full circle P-OLED all-metal dial. Its 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, housed in a (still chunky) 10.9mm / 0.42 inch thick casing, is believed to be the heart of this latest watch. The watch also includes 4GB of storage and 512MB RAM.
The latest LG watch has a 410 mAh battery. The display is at 245 pixels per inch. This watch also features an always-on ambient mode display which displays the time on a dimmed lit screen and preserves the battery life to last longer.
Additionally, this watch also includes heart rate monitor for workout sessions and a barometer for displaying the altitude. The watch will be compatible with the smartphone running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and above versions.
Though, the LG Watch Urbane is one of the most attractive and stylish Android Wear watch, but till the time Android Wear introduces some exceptional overhauls and adds extra hardware features, the LG Watch Urbane will rather appear as another fancier watch with the same Android Wear experience.
As of now, it is very obvious that the LG Watch Urbane announcement is well-timed to compete with the Apple Watch. Many other smartwatches, fitness devices and other wearables will be unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2015 and we will keep updating you from time to time. So, keep watching this space for more updates.
