Making Picture Collage Using Picasa®

Collage PicasaYou have hosted and shared pictures using Picasa. How about making a collage of pictures that you have recently clicked in order to let your friends and audience catch a sneak peek into it? Picasa lets you be more creative and have fun with your pictures. So why not explore this feature of Picasa today?, Get complete control over the content and layout of the collage you create on Picasa and showcase your creative best.

There are various collage types that you can experiment with. Especially, as this is your first-hand experience, these six styles of collages will bring great opportunities to mingle your creative ideas with purposes of collage creation.

Different styles of Collage in Picasa

Choose an appropriate style to mirror the purpose of creating a photo collage. Pick your best choice:

Picture Pile: The Picture Pile style enables creating a collage that takes the form of a pile of spread across pictures. You can drag photos around the collage, drag to the top or bottom of the pile. Picture Pile collage style allows adjusting the angle and scale of the photos while making a collage.

Grid: The Grid style lets you arrange chosen photos in columns and rows.

Mosaic: If you feel that the Grid look is too neat and systematized to give a personalized and creative expression, then the Mosaic style will be your ideal pick. Unlike placing pictures in rows and columns meticulously, scatter them into the page automatically with Mosaic.

Contact Sheet: You can assemble your photos neatly like thumbnails in a Contact Sheet collage style. This is undoubtedly an ideal style when you are making a picture collage using Picasa for official purposes.

Multiple Exposure: If you have few pictures to create a picture collage with, then choose the Multiple Exposure style. Remember that too many photos selected for Multiple Exposure will look superimposed on one another.

Frame Mosaic: Do you want a mosaic form of a picture collage on Picasa and pictures surrounding one noticeable center image? Opt for the Frame Mosaic style for wonderful results. You can also personalize the center image by clicking on the preferred image to appear as the center image and then, click on the ‘Set as Frame center’ button.

Settings of Picture Collage on Picasa

Like Style, you have myriad choices in Settings to personalize the appearance of your picture collage. Remember, these settings options are completely dependent upon the collage style that you choose. For example, the ‘Grid spacing’ setting can be used for Grid, Mosaic, and Frame Mosaic collages. This will let you specify the amount of border space in between photos. Picture Borders option will be available for ‘Contact Sheet’ and ‘Picture Pile’. You can choose a Polaroid Edge or a White Edge for each photo. Similarly, you can use other settings options to set such as Background options, Page Format, Orientation (horizontally or vertically), Draw Shadows, and Show captions while making a picture collage using Picasa.
