Last night while searching for a designer botique, when I was almost about to sleep, I came across something interesting that kept me up until 4 am. It seemed like a photo-collage and after searching more, I found out that it was Pinterest – an all new photo-sharing social media platform and a virtual pinboard. Since I love clicking random pictures and sharing them with my friends via social media, I know Pinterest would be the best place for me to unleash my creativity. I also read about how Pinterest is becoming immensely popular at a fast pace.
What is the Hype all about?
Well, if you are still wondering and haven’t heard about Pinterest, then wake up and smell the coffee. Pinterest is a phenomenon these days. It is not easy to join the network since you can join only via an invite from a user or by applying for one, post which your activation will be approved by the company admin. Trust me ladies, the platform is witnessing immense popularity among the fairer sex and the queue for invites is longer than the ones you see at Chanel during the Autumn sale.
Pinterest is not about sharing words and content. It’s more about curating content, focusing majorly on pictures. And yes it’s not a concept copied from Instagram or Flicker. Pinterest helps you in organizing and sharing any random beautiful picture you clicked or came across on the Internet, using pinboard as the platform. It is completely DIY platform and is all about your creativity. The image or picture that is added to Pinterest is known as a pin and a collection of pins forms a board. The feature of repin is similar to Facebook sharing feature and lets you share others’ pins. There is lot more to explore with Pinterest.
Pinterest on my iPad
I am all excited to use Pinterest on my iPad. I had already sent an invite request and to my surprise, I found it in my mail inbox when I checked in the evening. I created a Pinterest account and started “Pinning.” The best part about using Pinterest on iPad is that you can click photos from your iPad camera and Pin them as well. Pinterest can be easily used on iPad. Here’s what you need to do:
- Download the official Pinterest app from iTunes App store and install it on your iPad
- Instead of the above mentioned step, you can also add Pinterest bookmarklet to the Safari on iPad
- Enter your username and password and start pinning
After signing into Pinterest, I was hooked on to my iPad the entire night and also forgot the Friday night party. Mom was yelling at me for ignoring her calls for dinner and even forgetting to take Bruno for a walk. I just couldn’t help getting away from that beautiful Pinboard on my iPad and various other pinboards that I came across.
I am constantly pinning on my iPad now and hunting for more stuff to make my pinboard more appealing. I found grandma’s photographs in her closet in which she wore vintage dresses and jewelry. I am also thinking of adding some more photos that include those chocolate donuts oozing dark chocolate that mom makes every Sunday. It goes without saying that my pinboard will be incomplete without Bruno. I had clicked some of his photographs when he was trying to grab his tail with his mouth. I have collected all the paraphernalia and I am now adorning my pinboard with it.
I am flaunting my Pinboard
I was back to work on Monday. My friends and colleagues seemed to be too excited since they have been calling me up and asking for invites and for those who are already using Pinterest, my pictures are creative they said.
They say a picture speaks a thousand words. The penchant for imagery is what caught my eye. I was always looking forward for a platform where I could show my artistic and creative side to my college friends as well as friends at work. With Pinterest, I have got what I was looking for. The best part is that I am online on-the-go by using it on my iPad.
How do I pin from Facebook on an iPad please?
