Tomorrow we’ll celebrate leap year day after four years. What have you planned to do? Taking out the Leap Year DVD once again off the movie shelf and enjoy the myth of Leap Year marriage proposal. Of course, if you are liberated from make-believe traditions, flicks like these could be too clichéd for you and then, this is not a good idea. However, if you love gadgets, then I would suggest you to keep an eye over the Mobile World Congress 2012 (that might catch your fancy rather than a myth-based Rom-Com). On leap year day, Microsoft is finally going to raise the curtain off Windows 8 version called ‘Consumer Preview’ – is this the Windows 8 beta version? Let’s look into to the details.
The announcement… Â
Microsoft has plans to take on the leap year day to unravel the most awaited Windows 8 ‘Consumer Preview’ version on February 29, 2012. Microsoft will do it highly ceremoniously at the latest mobile phones event being held in Barcelona, Spain, the Mobile World Congress 2012. The event will be held during 3PM and 5PM (CET). I was wondering what made Microsoft select the MWC 2012 as the venue to stage its Windows 8 ‘Consumer Preview’ launch. Would it Microsoft’s attempts get into the mobile device market with its future plans with Windows 8 platform for Windows Phone?
Microsoft Bing Page with cues on Windows 8 ‘Consumer Preview’
Few days back, Microsoft included mentions of Windows 8 ‘Consumer Preview’ on the Microsoft Bing search page. Whether the tech giant has done it on purpose or not, but the Bing page which was seen under construction offered FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) information on Windows 8 ‘Consumer Preview’ version. The fish which was seen to swim across the screen could be the mascot Windows 8 ‘Consumer Preview’ as we had already seen a similar kind of fish back in time during the launch of Windows 7 Beta release.
So, let’s wait and watch what features and functions Microsoft Windows 8 Consumer Preview will promise at Mobile World Congress 2012.
