It happens before every device release from Apple. They kept the rumors boiling till the moment before official launch of a device. And, it is no exception with the iPad 2 successor release as well. Today, March 7, 2012 is the day to launch the new generation of iPad that was earlier dictated as iPad 3, but now sources reveal that the next iPad could be iPad HD – a new moniker?
Right before the Apple media event, VentureBeat and CNET sources claimed Tuesday morning with updates claiming that the next iPad would be iPad HD instead of iPad 3. Their sources explicitly said that Apple will tag the ‘HD’ moniker with its new iPad tablet edition. Their sources claimed that the device will hold on to its retina display and will show more pixels per square inch that human eye will not be able to distinguish from a distance of 12 inches. iPad’s acquisition of ‘HD’ tag has taken the gadget for a storm by now and heightened the level of anticipation among both iPad and non-iPad loyalists both for sure.
So, what will this ‘HD’ moniker imply to new iPad?
According to the sources of VentureBeat, Apple is getting 7.1” screen to release a smaller sibling of iPad later this year. A latest news released by Gizmodo has unambiguously hinted that the new iPad HD is expected to debut on Wednesday March 7, 2012. So, what is this iPad HD expected to feature on this Apple media event of today?
Specs of iPad HD alias iPad 3
The ‘HD’ moniker of the next iPad would sport a massive (unnecessary?) high definition pixel count that may run as high as 2048×1536 pixels. This new iPad is expected to make multimedia content and text appear more visually appealing and sharper along with full HD video support, as the tag ‘HD’ suggests. This would be the first iPad to flash full HD videos with 1920×1080. iPad with full HD display would surely get an edge over Android tablets that are currently sporting a 720p HD display. Other expected upgrades would include a dual-core A5 processor aka A5X. Apps and games with graphics intensive content would span well across the screen real estate of this new iPad HD – what do you think? Write us your views.
