“Poignant tribute to the beauty and strength of women” – claims World Bank about its latest photographic venture to portray struggles of women from remote corners of the world. This is a free app to pay homage to women around the world.
‘Every picture tells a story’ seems to be the inspiration behind this project that tell-a-tale with a picture of a woman. You will come across many laudable brave women from mines of Africa, war field of Mozambique, nuns of France and many more. And for all these, all you need to do is to touch this world of women at Women of the World app.
World Bank has partnered with Fotopedia to descend this app for iOS based devices. Does Fotopedia require an introduction after winning the Best Tablet App of the Year Crunchies Award. The partnership culminated into a photographic journey from women of one part of the world to another and to learn about their persistent struggles in order to salute to their strength of mind. The app is available in all three platforms iOS based devices from iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
Potency of women through the lens of Olivier Martel…
The Women of the World showcases pictorial tales of women seen through the lens of professional photographer, Olivier Martel. Martel has portrayed hundreds of pictures garnered from 75 countries. Earlier we have seen his pieces of work at the “Femmes Eternelles” exhibition in Paris in 2011 and this app reveals his visions of photographic praise of quality of gender. With the collaboration of Fotopedia, World Bank aims to collapse the inequalities and inspire all to act development and well being of women.
