Have you been awestruck by Tinker Bell and her gang of fairies since childhood? Well, let me make a confession here: every time I watch the TinkerBell Movie on DVD and Blu-ray Disc from Disney and on YouTube channels I still find myself highly astounded by their magical power of adorning the world with the colors.
Wish I could Fly like a fairy…Â
So, I am super excited at this Disney’s ‘fairytale’ event announcement: for all fairy lovers to cherish the fancy of fairies of Pixie Hollow, Disney has announced an amazing event to run for acquiring beautiful wings called Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend.
An enchanting route and run await you at the Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend
I have already registered my sister and myself to feel all the wonder of running through the charming course through neighborhoods of downtown Anaheim, past Anaheim Ice way, the Anaheim Center Street Promenade towards City Hall. What more beautiful chance to relish the fancy for fairies for women than participating at this weekend long half marathon event wherein you can team up with our fellow fairy lovers (like mother, sister, friends or spouse, brother)? Besides, I am also looking forward the fairy-tale-ish experience of flying through Hollywood Boulevard at Disney’s California Adventure Park, Paradise Bay and coming up with flying colors at the Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. And coming up with flying colors and winning the pair of fairy wings also requires use of the running gear besides capability to run for miles. Ever since we have registered with Tinker Bell Half Marathon (you may also sign up for Never Land Family Fun Run 5K, Disney Kids’ Races and Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend Expo), I have equipped me and my sibling with these running apps and gears that I love to share with all fairy themed half marathon enthusiasts –
LogMyRun Pacer app Â
This iPhone app is uncomplicated, calculator app and is available for free download at the iTunes App Store. We are using this LogMyRun Pacer tech gear during our regular practice to calculate our pace of each run, how much we can pace up in the next run, and to keep the log of run time, run distance and running log of each day so that we can run faster and the fastest.
iMapMyRun and Nike + GPS
I would also recommend using any one of iMapMyRun and Nike + GPS as both these apps have won favors of pro athletes. Specialties of these two app are additional perks that enhance the fun of running such as social networking integration to share and measure pace, fetch motivating comments from athletes, and a red background which is highly motivating. If you are an Android user, then RunKeeper Pro will be your best running companion as it has been recognized by Women’s Running readers. The app features GPS tracking functionalities, keeps running logs, and also allows capturing photos to spot your location on the runkeeper.com map.
Along with these apps, we are also taking along other gadgets Armpocket, an ultra-soft and water resistant arm pouch to carry along our phones and our running gels to soothe us.  Plus, we are tying our wrist with Garmin Forerunner 410 to track all data on time, heart-rate and speed. Thus, we are practicing and getting ready to run, glide and fly, are you ready to ‘fly to your heart’ like Pixie Hollow fairies?
