I start with an honest confession. I am from a generation where technology is the back of our hands and yet for me, it is just limited to checking my e-mail accounts. I still live in a world where I like to take notes with pen and read books with yellowed pages. I am also still trying to figure out, what’s the big deal with Skype. Even my so called Smartphone has only pre-loaded apps that may or may not do something useful for me.
But all this was true before five days ago, until I came across the new love of my life… Pulse. I was introduced to Pulse over coffee where I shyly admitted that I had never heard of it before. For all of you, who are still trying to understand who or what is Pulse, then here it is.
Pulse is a social news reader app for iPad, iPhone, Windows Phone, Android devices and of course, for Amazon Kindle Fire.
It is absolutely Free
It will allow you to shamelessly indulge in the fun and craving for celebrity gossip, the on the go stuff and of course, anything else that you want to read.
So, all this definitely got me interested and with my new found knowledge, I actually succeeded in downloading the Pulse app from the Android market and have been hooked to it ever since.
So, what’s the big deal about this App?
To put it simply, it makes reading stuff online super easy. And that my friend, is its beauty! The design of Pulse is slick and even people like me can use it. The app has an amazing interface. I can select just about anything I want to follow, whether it is the celebrity gossip from iVillage or the latest happening in the world of tech for women with Mizwhiz, or even the Wall Street Journal  when I want to keep a tab with my finances. All I have to do is scroll through the stories by just tapping on the titles within the grid and I get an instant peek of the headline and an image. Definitely a smart way to keep you interested.
So, if you never again want to go through the inevitable exasperation of trying to load a ‘mobile’ version of some website and seeing it all crooked and mis-sized and unreadable, then Pulse is the way to go. This is one newsreader that once again makes reading delightful. So, you get to read everything you want and also the way you want.
Pulse is climbing the popularity ladder quite fast. It has already partnered with over 250 well known names of the media including ESPN, NBC News, USA Today, The New Yorker and many more. The app is expected to reach 10 million users by the end of 2011 and I am happy to say, one of them is me…
