Apps Program Kids to Eat Healthy Foods!

Choosing the healthy meals for kids to boost health and growth could be daunting. Besides my kids like any other of their age group swear by KFC and love to binge on junk foods and make it utterly challenging for me to feed them on homemade healthy food. “Why can’t you cook fun and yum foods like Chicken Zinger Burger and French fries like ‘em?” – I wish I could convince them those junk foods contribute nowhere in your health and growth rather stacking up unhealthy fats around the torso. Thus, such outside foods increase the odds of overweight or obesity, in exchange of gratifying your taste buds. They are hardly nutritional – then what to do?

Knowing there is always an app for every reason, I researched on food and nutrition apps for kids. Voila! My hardwork paid and I found out following nutritional apps that help making fun and nutrient rich, healthy foods for my kids. I downloaded these nutritional apps on my iPad –

LunchLine

Platform – iPad

Price – $3.99

I tricked my iPad aficionado son finding out nutritional requirements by himself. I downloaded and launch this app on my iPad to let him find out and (feel proud and mature, every kid loves to do) to select the healthy food which are rich in nutrition from a wide range of four hundred types of foods. Now, it is easy for me to make him understand and pick healthy foods. Download it from here.

Count Your Peas

Platform – iPad

Price – $1.99

The Count Your Peas app is created to make kids analyze the food they eat and the nutritious food they need to eat. Isn’t it every mom’s answer to their prayer? Mine definitely. The app has an abacus to let kids count meal servings on the basis of food groups. Thus, you can educate your children about what is in their food and help kids making healthy choices, tracking the nutrition etc. Download it from here.

Kids Food Adventure

Platform: iPad

Price: 99 cents

Now kids can rate their own foods and also reward kids for trying a new healthy food (that I am persuading for long). The app allures kids with colorful pictures of foods, explore new foods, find recommendation on healthy seasonal foods, many fun facts and fascinating information in buying and cooking foods, ingredients of foods. Healthy food is now made adventure and rewarding for them, no more a hated item. Download it from here.

Android mom may consider a Droid alternative to these iOS nutritionall apps in Let’s Feed Danny where the Little Danny the dinosaur takes kids to the outer-space (dinosaur and space, both kids’ favorites) to explore healthy food items and fruits.
