MTV has been using social media for its various shows and movie awards. This time, it has launched social media voting tools on vote for ‘Best Hero’. The voting starts from May 29, 2012 and will continue during and after the MTV Movie Awards. However, if you are registered with the MTV.com, you are entitled to vote for other nominations from the official website of the awards show. You can use Twitter ‘hashtag’ to post votes. This social media voting process has already attracted popularity; more than 60,000 votes are already posted since the day one.

MTV is using a social media tool Facebook Tracker to keep a track of shares and Likes on various moments of the MTV Movie Awards night. The Facebook Tracker will collect data from the Facebook page of MTV.

MTV has already tasted success while using this tool for its Video Music Awards (took place in August 2011) and now it is anticipating the success of it. MTV will conduct a visual analysis of Tweets on various MTV Movie Awards moments. Instead of text based hashtag trending topics, Twitter users can trace pictures or video clip of the awards night to check out Twitter activities on the particular clip or image of the show.
