Best Apps to Enhance PC Experience for Your Mom

Best Apps to Enhance PC Experience for Your MomDoes your mom dread computer and Internet? Usually moms’ major concerns and worries stem from security issues, hacking, sudden occurrence of errors and issues, loss of data among others; otherwise, moms love their PCs for printing photos, video chat with her children, reading, searching for tips and tricks online and many more. If you are secretly planning to enhance and optimize PC experience for your mom, then install these apps and software on her computer to lessen her fear for computing and ease her PC use.

Start 8

Have you bought this ultra sleek and compact (and chic) Windows 8-based Ultrabook for your mom this Mother’s Day? If she relies on the Start button in order to search or navigate through her PC, then you need this program to restore the Start button on Metro interface of Windows 8. Start 8 helps replace the missing Start menu option on Windows 8 desktop taskbar.

Google Hangouts

Moms love to chat with family and loved ones and that’s why you need to install these two video chat applications on your mom’s PC. These are Google Hangouts and Skype. Google Hangouts will allow your mom to connect with her Google Plus contacts, from their PCs, iPhone, iPad or Android devices. She can chat face to face, share news and latest gossips, play games with her kitties and share files too. If she is not using Google Plus, then find alternative of Google Hangouts in Skype. Skype has released a streamlined version of its app for Windows 8. The app flashes on the Live Tile on the Windows 8, shows notifications of messages and missed calls. Skype for Windows 8 will also double as her contact book by storing all her phone numbers, email addresses, addresses and other contact details.

Security software

Before your mom starts browsing on her new PC, protect her PC with renowned security software such as Norton Internet Security 2013. Remember her golden advice: “Safety first”; Program Norton Internet Security 2013 to automatically run all antivirus tests, scan, update and provide all-around protection that her PC protects privacy and safety of her data.

In addition to these security software and other utility and fun applications, make sure you have installed Soluto Lite and CrashPlan Free. While Soluto Lite will help her troubleshoot issues, install apps, check for Windows Updates, CrashPlan Free will her help her keep backup of her data automatically, once a day.
